All 2008 Nissan Rogues are equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an outstanding continuously variable transmission Acceleration is plentiful for a 4 cylinder and fuel economy is average for this category at 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway for the S AWD and SL AWD and 22/27 for the S and SL.

2009 Nissan Rogue

The 2009 Nissan Rogue is a compact SUV based on the Nissan Sentra. In fact, the Rogue was the first Nissan compact SUV.

The Rogue gets a five passenger rating, and can hold four adults in reasonable comfort; however, the biggest problem, as with any compact, is with getting in and out. Once you are inside, the Rogue has some nice features. These include available six way adjustable driver and four way adjustable passenger front seats, tilt wheel, power locks and windows, remote keyless entry, security alarm and immobilizer key system. The Rogue may be compact, but it is all about using the space it does have. There are almost thirty cubic feet of storage space behind the rear seat. Of course, it has a 40/60 split rear seat and folding rear and passenger seats, and with the back seats down you more than double the available storage.

The Rogue is powered by a 170 horsepower four-cylinder 2.5 liter engine with a continuously variable transmission. It comes in either front wheel drive, rated at 22 miles per gallon city and 27 miles per gallon highway, or all wheel drive, which lowers the fuel economy number by one mile per gallon across the board. The comparable Mercury Mariner has a fuel efficiency rating of 20 mpg city and 26 mppg highway.

2010 Nissan Rogue

An innovative crossover SUV with a distinctive appearance, the 2010 Nissan Rogue comes off like a station wagon that has been lifted skyward. It also

demonstrates hints of the considerably larger Nissan Murano. Industry reviewers have called it everything from dorky and bland to good-looking and stylish. Its beauty truly lies implicitly in the eyes of those who behold it. The 5 passenger 2010 Rogue from Nissan features a spacious, comfortable interior that rivals the likes of the Honda CRV. Amber-hued lighting stylishly illuminates the well-placed and easily-read gauges and instruments. And even the faux metal plastic accents do not offend the senses; they're very well done. Commanding the Rogue is a pleasurable breeze.

The Nissan Rogue for 2010 features a 2.5L 170hp 6000 RPM 175 lb-ft 4400 RPM 4-banger with a continuously variable automatic transmission. 0 to 60 times have been measured at 8.8 seconds for front wheel driven models and 9.2 seconds for all wheel drive models. And while competitors like the Toyota RAV4 offer a V6 option, most experts agree that the Rogue outshines the 4-cylinder RAV and the Honda CR-V in terms of responsive acceleration. The CVT tranny utilizes a complex system of pulleys and belts to generate a never-ending number of gear ratios. The result of course is increased fuel efficiency. The EPA estimates that the Rogue will deliver 22/27 mpg in the cities and on the highways respectively (FWD trims) Additionally, the Rogue is able to tow up to 1000 pounds behind it.
