History of Nissan Versa

The Nissan Versa was launched as a compact car in 2007. The Versa models have been built on the Nissan B body, which has a stretched wheelbase. The Versa is available in hatchback and sedan body styles. The Versa is Nissan's current entry model for North America. It replaces the Sentra in that function, which has become more expensive after its 2007 design. The Versa made its debut in North America at the 2006 North American International Auto Show.

Second Generation

2011 Nissan Versa

Nissan announced that beginning with December production, all Versa trim levels now come standard with power windows and door locks. This change affects all Versa 1.6 Sedans, as well as Versa 1.8 S Sedan and 1.8 S Hatchback models (power windows and door locks are already standard on Versa SL models).

2012 Nissan Versa

Nissan has added a few visual improvements to the overall styling of its Versa 2012 models. Starting at the front we have a redesigned grill. This front end is more reminiscent of larger sedans such as the Altima. The Nissan Versa 2012 also has redesigned front headlights which are now more oval, and slightly more stylish than previous models. The main segments of the body design on the 2012 Versa is broken up by a number of creased lines which reminds us of other contemporary designs. The rear windshield on previous Versas was much steeper but the Versa 2012 model has a roof that slopes down gently with a less severe angle on the rear windshield ending in reshaped rear tail lights
