Explore the 2019 Nissan 370Z

A proper sports machine, the Nissan 370Z brings the joy of driving and everyday practicality into one package. With compact body, RWD, capable 3.7 V6, rugged feel and some optional equipment to embellish distinctive trim levels, the 370Z is a great choice for any driving enthusiast. Even though it has been almost a decade from the first time it came out, the thrills that the 370Z offer are of the timeless kind.

Design of the Nissan 370Z

The Nissan 370Z has had the same design basis since 2001 when its predecessor, the 350Z, saw the light of day. The mere fact that it still looks wonderfully fresh is a token of its successful design.

Despite the same basic idea, changes over the years introduced some modern features that make the 2019 370Z up to date in every sense of the word.

The front hosts a low intake grille that goes all the way to the front lip spoiler. The headlights are placed relatively high up and have a peculiar, modern shape that complements the sculpted hood. The rear has similarly shaped taillights, a prominent diffuser and stylish spoiler.

However, by far the prettiest view of the 370Z is from the side. It looks compact and elegant, like a one-piece creation, rather than the sum of its parts. This silhouette is probably the main reason why the overall design of the 370Z is timeless.

Interior of the Nissan 370Z

The small cabin is cleverly laid out, keeping all controls at hand and easy to use. Instruments are designed to allow easy reading and the three dials at the top of the dashboard add to the sporty feel.

The infotainment screen is placed above all controls and it is bright and large enough to do the job in style.

Storage space is never a strong point of small sports cars, but the 370Z does a reasonably good job. There is a large cup holder, several small bins and bottle holders in door pockets. Moreover, if you have small bags or something similar, the space behind the seats gives some extra practical storage.

The sound of the engine adds to the driving feel of the 370Z, and you get better feedback from the engine and road than in many other sports cars. The 370Z feels mechanical and puts a smile on the face of every real gearhead.

Once again, the 370Z is a proper traditional sports car. If you enjoy those, you will pay attention to the road rather than your smartphone but modern features expected will not be missed in the 370Z.

Engines and Drive of the Nissan 370Z

If you are looking for a driver’s car, this is it. We’ll get to the engine in a minute, but before that we have to say that there are also other things that make the 370Z so fun to drive. Steering is razor sharp, the car reacts confidently and allows precise steering. As far as power goes you get what you want, if you want it and when you want it.

Throwing the 370Z around or keeping its path tight and composed is a matter of your preference and easily done.

Moreover, the option of a manual gearbox completes the old-school feel that the 370Z provides. The other option is a 7-speed automatic.

There are two versions of the same 3.7 V6 engine in Canada. The first one has 332 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque and the second one comes in the NISMO trim with 350 hp and 276 lb-ft of torque.

The extra power of the NISMO version is not huge, but the car is equipped with a number of sports features in terms of handling and performance, including things like SynchroRev Match and Viscous LSD. If you are looking for the ultimate 370Z driving pleasure, the NISMO is well worth the money.

Add to it the fierce engine note, smooth rev buildup of the naturally aspirated V6 and great connectedness to the road that every version of the 370Z includes and it becomes one of the rare cars on the market that preserve the traditional driving values.

Trim Levels for the Nissan 370Z

The 370Z comes in several distinctive trim levels and with some accessories available.
